Marion Poncet is not a woman, nor the sister of Roman Poncet. It’s a clever reinvention of his own name: by rearranging the letters of “Roman” and adding an “i,” he created Marion, a new project with a softer, silkier edge that contrasts with the intense techno of his earlier work. Roman first made waves with his debut EP Figure 46 on a label run by Len Faki, which led to a Franco-German collaboration for Figure 54, named for the label’s fifty-fourth release.
Under the Marion alias, the sound transforms. Gone are the pounding synths and furious techno blasts; instead, Marion delivers rhythmic, danceable house infused with exotic textures and a gentler touch. One hour of hypnotic grooves and trance-like flow defines the Marion experience—house music with a warm, enchanting twist.
